Cuts in water usage of between eight and 36-percent enacted on Tuesday under an emergency declaration of the State Water Resources Control Board.
Based on 2013 numbers some water agencies will have to conserve a little, some a lot—but it all must add up to a 25-percent cut in water immediately. Among those under a 36-percent reduction demand: The Valley Water Company serving La Canada-Flintridge, The City of Arcadia and L-A County Waterworks District #29, serving Malibu. Meanwhile Seal Beach, Compton and The California Water Service Company of East Los Angeles only need 8-percent cut backs. LA DWP is mandated to cut water usage by 16-percent. Tom Perumean, KABC NEWS.
