The Attorney General’s third annual report on truancy in the California school system continues to show the need to gets kids back at their desks.

The latest report entitled “In School-On Track” was released only. “One of the main findings of the report is that California still faces an attendance crisis in elementary school. In fact we estimate that about 230,000 California elementary school students are chronically absent”, according to Special Assistant Attorney General Jill Habig.

Habig explains it’s a lose-lose situation when a child is not in school. Children miss out on needed skills to advance in their education and schools lose needed funding.
