The Lakers have re-signed Metta World Peace for the upcoming NBA season.  Free-agent forward Metta World Peace has agreed to a one-year, non-guaranteed deal to return to the Lakers — NBA sources have told Yahoo Sports. World Peace — formerly known as Ron Artest — was a major contributor on theLakers 2010 championship team — but left L.A. after the 2013-14 season — and played in China and Italy last season.

His signing brings the Lakers roster to 19 players as they head to Hawaii for the start of training camp on Monday. Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski ( WURJ-nə-ROE-skee) says he IS expected to make the final roster — as a backup small forward for coach Byron Scott.
