CalState Chancellor Says University System Needs More Money

Despite reaching an agreement to raise pay for faculty by more than ten-percent, the Chancellor of the CalState University System says they need money.

The candid words came on the same day CSU announced the pay raise.  Chancellor Timothy White reflected on the yearlong salary standoff with the California Faculty Association:

“The dispute actually really is an unfortunate symptom of a core problem in California.  And that is in fact the CSU, as well as the University of California for that matter, are underfunded relative to the states need for an educated populace.”

White says the recession hurt the education systems in California and that funding still has not returned the same level before 2008 and yet the CSU is has 20-thousand more students in attendance.  Tom Perumean, KABC NEWS.
