Obama in town-traffic will be a mess

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – There will be a host of temporary street closures
and restrictions as well as heavy traffic congestion on several freeways and
multiple surface streets in the Los Angeles and Beverly Hills areas Monday and
Tuesday because of President Barack Obama’s visit to the Southland.
Police suggest drivers avoid the following areas during these time
periods because of expected heavy traffic congestion:
– The area around Sherman Way between Clybourn Avenue & Coldwater Canyon
Avenue from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
– The Hollywood (170) and Hollywood (101) freeways from 1:30 p.m. to
2:30 p.m. on Monday.
– The area around Highland Avenue between Franklin Avenue and Sunset
Boulevard from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday
– The 101 and San Diego (405) freeways from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
– The area around Sunset Boulevard between Woodburn and North Palm
drives from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
– The area around Sunset Boulevard between Woodburn and Palm drives
from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday
The 405 and Santa Monica (10) freeways from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m on Tuesday.
– The area around South Centinela Avenue between Ocean Park and West
Pico boulevards between noon and 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
Police report the following closures and traffic restrictions will
impact the following locations:
– In Hollywood, the east and westbound lanes of Hollywood Boulevard
between Highland Avenue and North Orange Drive will be closed to vehicular
traffic between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday.
– In Hollywood, the east and westbound lanes of Hawthorne Avenue between
Highland Avenue and N. Orange Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic
between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday.
– In Beverly Hills, the north and southbound lanes of North Loma Vista
Drive between Wallace Ridge and Dabney Drive will be closed to vehicular
traffic between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday.
– In Beverly Hills, the east and westbound lanes of Sunset Boulevard
between North Whittier and North Bedford drives will be closed to vehicular
traffic between 10:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
