LA Mayor Eric Garcetti is being blasted over his response to the recent protests after the presidential election.

And now a local police union wants the mayor to apologize.

“Very disappointed and angry to see Mayor Garcetti state, and I quote ,’We have to make sure, we don’t break too many laws.”

Craig Lally with the Los Angeles Police Protective League believes those words put officers in danger.

“Given that an LAPD officer was assaulted by multiple suspects and beaten with his own handcuffs for simply doing his job.”

He’s calling for the city controller to investigate the number of officers staffed during the protests, citing a concern of being understaffed. The mayor’s office has yet to comment.
