A good samaritan is recovering in the hospital after trying to help a security guard in North Hollywood stop a suspected shoplifter.
Police are investigating the stabbing that happened in the parking lot of Gelson’s Market around 10 o’clock this morning.
“Officer’s responded to a stabbing incident at Riverside Drive and Laurel Canyon (Boulevard).”
LAPD Officer Tony Im says a security guard was trying to arrest a woman accused of stealing when a bystander came to help. That’s when he says her boyfriend stabbed the good samaritan a number of times as the woman tried getting away.
“Both were taken into custody for stabbing and one victim was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.”
He says to always consider personal safety over property.
