“Mission Impossible” Star Martin Landau Dies

Funeral plans are pending for Oscar-winning actor Martin Landau. His publicist says Landeau died Saturday from unexpected complications at Ronald Reagan U-C-L-A Medical Center in Westwood. Landau won an Oscar was for playing Bela Lugosi in the 1994 film “Ed Wood.”  He rose to fame playing a killer in Alfred Hitchcock’s classic 1959 tale of intrigue “North by Northwest.” He then starred for three years in the hit series, “Mission Impossible” but left the show in 1969 because of a contract dispute. Landeau also appeared in the films”Tucker: The Man and His Dream” and “Crimes and Misdemeanors.” Martin Landeau was 89. (City News Service)
