Garcetti to Launch Cyber-Security Initiative

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti will announce this morning the launch of an unprecedented initiative to share information about cyber-security threats with businesses in the city. Garcetti will announce the formation of the Los Angeles Cyber Lab at 9-30 at the City Emergency Operations Center on Temple Street in Downtown L.A. It’s America’s first city-led partnership dedicated to protecting businesses and residents from cyber attacks. Federal agencies and industry organizations have developed several threat-sharing partnerships in recent years, but city leaders say they haven’t seen one emerge that addressed an entire region or small- and medium-sized companies.
