Local Congressman Says His Bill Will Keep Families Together

President Trump has been meeting with GOP leaders on Capitol Hill. They’re working on a bill that aims to keep families together who illegally cross the border into the US. The president insists he won’t sign a bill that doesn’t include border security and funding for the border wall.

But Democrat Congressman Pete Aguilar, from San Bernardino, says he has a bipartisan solution called the Keep Families Together Act that the president can sign right now and immediately end the process of separating children from their parents.

“The bottom line is this. Solve this problem. If you want to have a broader discussion on the immigration issue, I’m happy with that. I’m the cosponsor, the lead Democrat for a bipartisan fix that has border security paired with fixing DACA. I’m happy to have that conversation. But right now, on the issue of the day, the president has no solution.”

Aguilar was a guest on McIntyre in the Morning.
