State Supreme Court Says Only One California

California will remain one state following a ruling by the California Supreme Court.

The judges unanimously blocked an initiative aimed at dividing California into 3 separate states from appearing on the November ballot. Steve Maviglio, the spokesperson for One California says he’s happy with the ruling.

“We’ve had enough division in this country. And, I do have some sympathy for the concerns of some people who think that we’re not being adequately represented, but I don’t think the solution to that is carving things up and creating three more governments, three more lieutenant governors and thousands more politicians.”

The judges concluded that the “hardships from permitting an invalid measure to remain on the ballot outweigh the harm potentially posed by delaying a proposition to a future election.”

A billionaire venture capitalist from Silicon Valley, Tim Draper, created and bankrolled the measure and he says the Court deprived Californians and corrupted the political process.

Maviglio was a guest on McIntryre in the Morning.
