San Francisco’s Streets Have a Major Number Two Problem

San Francisco, one of the wealthiest cities in America, has a serious amount of human fecal matter covering its city streets.

So serious in fact, that the city has had to deploy a new squad dubbed the Poop Patrol. San Francisco columnist Phil Matier explains why the it has become a necessity.

“Every morning they send out about 3 or 4 squads of people to steam clean the worst areas of human waste and by afternoon it’s back. So, now with this poop patrol, they’re going to be the day shift that goes out and does it in the middle of the day, just to try and make up for what happens in those few hours after what happens after they do it in the morning. It’s affecting the business areas. We’ve already lost one convention because of what we call street behavior.”

Matier was a guest on McIntyre in the Morning.
