Legal expert: Cosby sentence will be “symbolic”

The judge in the Bill Cosby trial has made the decision to classify Cosby as a “sexually violent predator” as he prepares to sentence the entertainer.

Attorney and media legal analyst Brian Claypool says Judge Steven O’Neill is not likely to be lenient when it comes to sentencing the comedian convicted of drugging and molesting a woman at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004.

”Even though this judge cannot consider the five prior women who testified at trial for purposes of sentencing, that’s going to be in back in the mind of this judge. Remember, there are like 59 other women with alleged assaults, so this is a symbolic sentence, not just a regular ho-hum sentence for sexual assault.”

Brian Claypool was a guest on McIntyre in the Morning.
