Over 100-thousand tons of methane gas leaked into the air in October 2015. The California Public Utilities Commission report faults Southern California Gas Company. Experts say Aliso Canyon has extensive corrosion. An outside firm that prepared the report says the company failed to properly investigate more than 60 previous leaks dating back to the 70\’s. SoCal Gas has paid out nearly 120-million dollars in settlements. A class-action lawsuit involving thousands of residents is pending.
