Rhett Nelson of St. George, Utah is accused of shooting and killing 31-year-old Dmitry Alekseyevich in downtown Los Angeles on Monday before driving to Alhambra where he allegedly shot Deputy Joseph Solano, who died last night. Nelson is facing special circumstances, so he could face the death penalty. Prosecutors are also charging him with attempted murder and two counts of robbery. They believe he robbed a 7-Eleven store and a Shell gas station in Long Beach on the same day as the fatal shootings. And, officials in San Diego County say he may be a suspect in four armed robberies.
