Blame it on the car culture. A new study finds LA has the highest average car insurance rates among big California cities. LA drivers pay an average of twenty-two-hundred dollars a year. Long Beach, Lancaster and Anaheim are also near the top. The reasons for the higher rates include longer commute distances, overall mileage and a driver’s job. The best deal on insurance among large California cities is found in Oceanside.
