Rescue teams in Inyo County think they’ve found the dog belonging to missing hiker Sheryl Powell. The 60-year-old and her dog went missing on Friday. Her husband said he dropped them off near a remote campsite and returned five minutes later to find them missing. Family friend Lorie Geery tells KTLA-5 Sheryl and her husband Joe are close.
”Joe had just kind of semi-retired and I can’t imagine either one of them wanting to go through the rest of their life alone.”
On Monday, the Inyo County Sheriff’s office said the husband is not a suspect. The Huntington Beach woman had no food, water or equipment. The dog was found alive. The aerial and ground search continues.
