Crossing Crash

A teenager and a crossing guard are in the hospital after being struck by a car in Valley Glen Monday morning. A driver hit the two on Vanowen near Sunnyslope. Sergeant David Delgado of LAPD tells KTLA 5 the 16-year-old girl has more minor injuries.

”The crossing guard has more severe injuries. We don’t have the extent of those injuries, but we know that the injuries are life-threatening at this time.”

The driver did stay on scene and is cooperating with investigators. Damage to the front end of the sedan is visible. Police believe the driver may have been temporarily impared by the rising sun. No arrests have been made. Authorities are calling it an accident.
