If approved, the deal will keep the team in Anaheim for 30 years. City spokesman Mike Lyster says Moreno and his business partners are planning a major development.

”The entire area has a plan for urban-style homes, restaurants, entertainment-type uses.”

The sale would include 133 acres of land. Moreno indicates he might build a brand new stadium on the site. Anaheim Mayor Harry Sidhu hopes to act fast.

”We expect the first part of this proposal to go before our city council in a special meeting on December 20th.”

Negotiations over the future of the team have been ongoing for several years.
