DOWNEY, Calif. (KABC) -- Two men were fatally shot and stabbed outside a restaurant in Downey Sunday, and the suspects are on the loose.
One of the victims, 32-year-old Isaac Perez, was an employee and family member of the owners of George's Bar & Grill, located in the 7800 block of Florence Avenue. Perez's brother told Eyewitness News Issac Perez and a friend were cleaning up George's at closing time when they decided to get a burrito across the street at Tacos Mexico around 2 a.m.
According to witnesses, the suspects and the victims got into a fight outside Tacos Mexico. Police say the victims were stabbed and shot to death. The suspects then reportedly ran back across the street and may have been trying to get back to George's.
A witness, who only wanted to be identified as "Betty," says she was in Tacos Mexico during the incident when the suspects hurried out the door.
"The next thing you know some of the guys inside said, 'Something's going down outside.' We heard three gunshots, and by that time everybody in the restaurant was on the floor," she said, adding that she heard four more gunshots.
The male suspects were last seen fleeing westbound on Florence Avenue.
