News Reporter
Debra Greene, news reporter for Talk Radio 790 KABC, is an award-winning journalist. She is a native Los Angelina, Phi Beta Kappa graduate from UCLA with an M.A. in broadcast journalism from USC’s Annenberg School for Communication. She honed her journalism skills at KNX 1070 Newsradio as a weekend news writer and then worked as a news reporter for Sacramento’s top radio station, News-Talk 1530 KFBK. Recently, she was an associate producer for KCET-TV’s newsmagazine show, “SoCal Connected.”
Debra has earned numerous journalism awards including the Simon T. Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism from USC, two regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, an Associated Press Television and Radio Association’s Mark Twain Award, a NorCal RTNDA Award and a Golden Mike. Debra is secretary of the Radio & Television News Association of Southern California.
When she’s not out with her microphone and recorder, Debra plays violin in the Jr. Philharmonic Orchestra. She also manages that orchestra along with the Los Angeles Lawyers Philharmonic and Legal Voices, where she produces major concerts at venues like Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Debra enjoys traveling. She reached her long-time goal of visiting all 50 states in the U.S. You can hear Debra’s reports during the week on Talk Radio 790 KABC.
