SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- The wife of a Santa Ana man accused of sexually abusing his foster children is now behind bars facing charges of her own.

Police have arrested 59-year-old Maria Hernandez, who is due in court Thursday for her arraignment. Hernandez is charged with being an accessory after the fact.

The foster mother is accused of witnessing the rape of a child, threatening the girl to get her to lie, and lying to other family members about the abuse. If convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of three years in state prison.

Her husband, 66-year-old Felipe Hernandez, was arrested in February and faces a long list of charges, which include aggravated sexual assault, forcible lewd act on a child under 14 years old and possession of child pornography. READ MORE HERE
