An Inland Empire congresswoman is calling on the IRS to investigate the LA County Fair Association.
Congressional Democrat Norma Torres has fired off letters to the head of the IRS and State Attorney General Kamala Harris expressing concern over the Associations non-profit tax status:
“My concern has always been about the transparency. Here we have a business operating as a non-profit organization receiving grants from the federal government, benefiting from a reduced rent from LA County.”
Torres says when she learned the head of the association made close to a million dollars a year; she became concerned about their management of the County Fairgrounds. Tom Perumean, KABC NEWS.
