Republican presidential contender Donald Trump may have outfoxed his rivals and his media naysayers by taking all the oxygen out of the room by his absence from the Fox News hosted GOP debate tonight. Des Moines Register political columnist Kathie Obradovich says Trump’s move is not going to hurt his chances.
“Donald Trump thrives not by people saying nice things about him. He thrives on attention and he can actually get more attention not doing the debate than he gets if he goes on the stage He’s going to be talked about either way. He’s going to be talked about at the debate because the other candidates are going to want to talk about why he’s not there and he’s going to have his own event as well. That’s going to be all he needs.”
Obradovich says Republicans in Iowa are looking for something new. She adds that the evangelical and Tea Party vote will mostly go to Texas Senator Ted Cruz. Obradovich was a guest on 790 KABC’s McIntyre in the Morning Show with Doug McIntyre and Terrie Rae Elmer.
