(CNN) — Corey Lewandowski told CNN Monday he doesn’t know why he was fired as Donald Trump’s campaign manager.
“I don’t know. I don’t know the answer to that,” Lewandowski said in an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash.
He added, “But what I know is that what we’ve been able to achieve in this election cycle was historic. I had a nice conversation with Mr. Trump and I said to him, ‘It’s been an honor and a privilege to be a part of this, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.’”
“I don’t know. I don’t know the answer to that,” Lewandowski said in an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash.
He added, “But what I know is that what we’ve been able to achieve in this election cycle was historic. I had a nice conversation with Mr. Trump and I said to him, ‘It’s been an honor and a privilege to be a part of this, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.’”
