A shark attack victim who was nearly torn to pieces now says she wants to help save the fish from being wiped off the face of the earth. Maria Korcsmaro wears a necklace adorned with the 161 surgical staples used by surgeons who pieced her back together earlier this year. She tells the “Orange County Register” that she is concerned about the way sharks are hunted.
“Just because a shark bit me, I don’t think a shark should die for shark fin soup.”
