Nine schools, including Walter Reed Middle School in North Hollywood are losing funding after student populations fell below the court mandated 70-percent minority requirement.
“It really is unacceptable.”
John Altschüler [alt-shlur] is a member of Friends of Reed and says the district is being mismanaged.
“Title 1 funding and PHBAO funding used to be extras. Now, this decrepit system relies on it just to barely educate our kids.”
The LAUSD is trying to provide alternative funding though it would only be temporary, with teachers still possibly losing their jobs.
