Battle Against Road Diets Intensifies as Cars Get Squeezed Out

By

/

The opposition continues in Mar Vista against traffic-choking road diets.  Demetrious Mavromichalis runs the Venice Grind Coffee House. His is one of the businesses impacted by the new traffic calming measures imposed by the powers that be at Los Angeles City Hall.

“They’re choking the heck out of these boulevards to get people to go somewhere else or get out of their cars, because their plan is no more cars in the neighborhood.”

He says those opposed are getting together to fight local Councilman Mike Bonin.

“You’re going to have every coalition group on every neighborhood which has either gotten together, or are getting together.  They’re going to form and they’re going to say, ‘You know what? We elected you, we put you in office.  You’re supposed to represent us and now you just turn your back on us. It’s over.’ “

790 KABC will broadcast live from the Venice Grind Coffee House in Mar Vista Tuesday morning (July 25).  Join Leeann Tweeden and Doug McIntyre from 5 to 10 AM to hear a discussion about this important issue.

Mavromichalis was a guest on McIntyre in the Morning.
