The three UCLA basketball players who had been detained in China for shoplifting apologized for their actions at a news conference at the school today.
LiAngelo Ball, Jalen Hill and Cody Riley all expressed remorse for their actions and also thanked President Trump for helping them get out of a legal jam that caused a significant international embarrassment for UCLA and the nation.
UCLA basketball head coach Steve Alford said the three players arrested in China have been suspended indefinitely from the team. They will not travel with the team or suit up for home games, and they will remain suspended as the players go through the university’s disciplinary review process.
“These are good young men who have exercised an inexcusable lack of judgement,” said Alford.
