Republican Congressman Darrell Issa, who represents coastal areas of San Diego County and part of Orange County, announced this morning he will not seek re-election to Congress, where he has served 18 years.
The 64-year-old congressman issued a statement in the nation’s capital to announce his decision. But he has not yet said why he won’t take part in this year’s elections, or what he plans to do next.
This news follows the announcement earlier this week that Republican Congressman Ed Royce will not seek another term. Royce’s district covers portions of Orange, San Bernardino and Los Angeles counties.
