Californians will vote this fall on an initiative to repeal last year’s gas-tax increase.
The Gas Tax Repeal Initiative received more than the roughly 644 thousand signatures required to get it on the ballot. John Cox, the Republican candidate for governor, says the gas tax is emblematic of inefficiency in Sacramento.
”California now spends three to four times what other states do on building one mile of road. That is incredible inefficiency. That’s corruption writ large.”
He said the high cost of government in this state is driving up the cost of living for average people.
“This state is virtually unaffordable. Gasoline is already getting close to $5 a gallon. I think it will be $5 a gallon by Election Day.”
John Cox was a guest on McIntyre in the Morning.
