President Trump’s nomination of Federal Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy is a move in the right direction, according to Dr. John Eastman, Constitutional Law Professor at Chapman University. He says Kavanaugh has a strong record of upholding the law as written.
“I think the thing that stands out most about his record as a judge is his faithful appliance to the law and governing precedent of the higher court, the Supreme Court that he’s bound to follow. There’s no games here. If the law says ‘x’, then he rules ‘x’. If the rule says ‘not x,’ he rules ‘not x.’ ”
He says Kavanaugh will hew closely to the original intent of the Constitution in his decisions.
“Pushing back against unelected bureaucrats and administrative agencies basically ruling our lives from morning ‘til night, from cradle to grave, without any legal authority. These administrative doctrines that have developed over the last number of decades are finally being called into question.”
Dr. Eastman was a guest on McIntyre in the Morning.
