It seems that some of your tax dollars are being spent to keep the Gas Tax intact.
The Fair Political Practices Commission announced its opening an investigation as to whether or not workers subcontracted by Caltrans handed out flyers opposing Proposition 6, the ballot measure to repeal the Gas Tax. John Coupal, President of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association says it’s an all-too common practice.
”This happens all the time where you see taxpayer dollars used for political advocacy. The big thing now is Caltrans is spending tons of money – 700 dollars per sign – for these big signs that say ‘Your SB 1 taxes at work’ in places where there’s no projects being built. So, obviously they’re laying the ground work to oppose Proposition 6. This happens up and down the state all the time.”
John Coupal was a guest on McIntyre in the Morning.
