When it comes to shopping this holiday season, mobile phones will rule the day.
For the first time ever, more purchases will be made with mobile phones than any other devices; 46% of all orders will be placed on smartphones. CNBC retail analyst Jan Kniffen says phones will account for 68 percent of all e-commerce visits.
“We think it’s going to be the fastest growing thing as far as shopping for the holiday season. We also think it’s going to be one heck of a good holiday season. It’s pretty amazing to think that the economy, it’s the best consumer economy that I’ve seen in at least 25 years.”
He goes on to say even those in-store shoppers are mobile — 83 percent of shoppers aged 18–44 will be using their phones while in a physical store.
Kniffen was a guest on McIntyre in the Morning.
