Ontario Police Sergeant Bill Russell says they have strong evidence.

”Among that evidence is a suicide note that was left by the mother,

indicating that she intended to kill their children and to kill herself.”

The four-month-old and 14-year-old sisters were found dead Tuesday. Their mother is hospitalized and police hope to interview her soon. She also suffered injuries but is expected to recover. Russell was asked if the mother was suffering from postpartum depression.

”It’s difficult to say. We do know that the mother was dealing with depression prior to the incident.”

The father was the one who first called police to the family home. Authorities say he is not a suspect.
