Justice for Homicide Victims demands government action [AUDIO]

A group of citizens are fighting mad over the government’s failure to solve homicides.

“Justice for Homicide Victims” just put up a billboard along the 605 freeway in Baldwin Park to bring attention to their cause.

Member LaWanda Hawkins’ 19-year-old son was slain in 1995 in what is still an unsolved murder case. She wants the government to step it up.

“We would like to see an unsolved homicide database created immediately with all these law enforcement agencies. We have a right to know if we have a murderer living next door to us. We want to know that. How they got it set up now, we don’t have a way of knowing anything. We don’t see no public service announcements regarding this crime called murder.”

LaWanda Hawkins was a guest on the Morning Drive.
