Lawmakers want to name the Pacoima Post Office after rock ‘n’ roll legend Ritchie Valens. The heartthrob from decades ago attended San Fernando High School and was discovered while singing at the American Legion hall in the city. Valens hit it big with songs such as La Bamba, We Belong Together, Donna and Come On Let’s Go. He died at the age of 17 in a plane crash alongside Buddy Holly and “The Big Bopper” in 1959. The bill is now moving on to the Senate for approval.
