(New York, NY) — Wall Street is starting the month of June in the green. Stocks rose as investors largely shook off trade tensions with China and bet on a successful reopening of the economy. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 91 points to 25-475. The S&P 500 added 11 points to 30-55. And the Nasdaq rose 62 points to end the session at 95-52.
Airline and hospitality industry stocks led the gains with American and United Airlines each advancing more than five-percent. Delta shares rose nearly four percent. Carnival, Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean were all up more than six-and-a-half percent. Monday’s gains came after the Dow and S&P 500 each posted gains of at least three percent last week.
