Comedy Royalty Carl Reiner Dead at 98

(Beverly Hills, CA) — One of Hollywood’s most prolific entertainers has died. TMZ is reporting Carl Reiner died last night at the age of 98 with family by his side at his home in Beverly Hills. Reiner was a producer, director and actor. He has more than 400 credits to his name, including movies, TV shows, audio recordings and books. He worked extensively with Mel Brooks. In his early TV days, Reiner was well-known for playing the role of Alan Brady on the Dick Van Dyke Show. He went on to produce movies featuring the likes of Steve Martin, John Candy, Kirstie Alley, Carrie Fischer and Bette Midler. In 2000, Reiner received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Reiner had three kids, including actor, director, Rob Reiner. Reiner’s wife, Estelle passed away in 2008.
