(New York, NY) — Wall Street investors are shrugging off some dire warnings to help the second quarter go down in history as one of the best. It is the best performance by both the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 in more than 20 years. The Nasdaq Composite did just as well, finishing with its best quarter since the dot-com crash. Dr. Anthony Fauci testified before Congress today that the nation is heading in the wrong direction on coronavirus cases. He said if it doesn’t turn around soon, 100-thousand new cases a day is possible. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell testified before a different committee and said the economy won’t fully recover until consumers are confident they are not at risk of the virus. At the closing bell, the Dow Jones was up 216 points to 25-812. The S&P 500 gained 47 points to 31-00. And the Nasdaq added 185 points to 10-59.
