Garcetti Unveils COVID Threat Level Meter
(Los Angeles, CA) — Los Angeles residents can now check a color-coded meter that tells them how at-risk they are of catching coronavirus. Last night Mayor Eric Garcetti unveiled the system, which looks similar to a fire danger meter you might see when driving through a local forest. Green is the goal, as that means COVID-19 is at the most contained of the four possible levels. Red is the worst, meaning people shouldn’t ever leave the house, and Garcetti says he’ll shut down waves of businesses again if the city ever returns to red.

We will begin posting the COVID threat level at Coronavirus.LACity.org/ThreatLevel using the colors red, orange, yellow, and green. Today we’re at orange — the risk of infection remains high and you should stay at home as often as you can and only leave for essential activities.
