McCarthy Praises Job Numbers, Discusses Additional COVID-19 Stimulus
(Washington, DC) — House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said America is “coming back” and “restoring” the economy after the latest jobs report showed that four-point-eight-million jobs were added in June. Speaking with reporters, the California Republican said they are, however, looking at doing another coronavirus relief package by the end of July. McCarthy said he has been meeting with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to discuss what will be included in the legislation. He says they are focused on liability protections, more PPP funding for small businesses and additional stimulus checks if needed.
