Volunteers Get Infected With COVID-19 In Research Project
People are volunteering to be infected with coronavirus as part of a scientific trial. The project called 1DaySooner involves a volunteer getting exposed to the virus in order to bring about a faster development of a vaccine. Atwater Village movie maker Antonio Cisneros and Pasadena software engineer Sunash Sharma are among the volunteers from southern California interested in participating in the project. Sharma says he looks forward to making a proactive contribution to the betterment of humanity. Cisneros says he wants the vaccine process to succeed, in particular because his parents are nearing 70-years of age and he doesn’t want to hear any bad news that they have been infected.
