Teachers Union Calls For LAUSD To Stay Closed

(Los Angeles, CA) — Leaders in the Los Angeles Unified School District are asking for school campuses to stay closed when they are supposed to reopen in August. Board members of the union are saying it’s currently unsafe to bring children back to school with the current outbreak of COVID-19 cases. The group wants the county to continue with virtual learning as a substitute. The union is surveying members today to see where the majority of teachers stand on the issue and the results being released tonight.
