(Los Angeles, CA) — Students within the Los Angeles Unified School District and the San Diego Unified School District will not be returning to campus for the start of the fall semester. The school districts released a joint statement today saying the current state of the pandemic in California is the reason for the virtual start to the semester. LAUSD students will begin online classes on August 18th and SDUSD students will start online learning on August 26th. The districts are working on a plan to bring students back to campus for the 2020-2021 school year, but does not say when that might be.
