Rose Parade Cancelled For The First Time Since World War II

(Pasadena, CA) — The annual Rose Parade is not going to happen on New Year’s Day. Organizers announced they have canceled the Pasadena tradition for the first time since World War Two because of the coronavirus pandemic. In a news release, they said it was made with reluctance and disappointment and in accordance with Governor Gavin Newsom’s reopening schedule. The parade of floats before the Rose Bowl game has been canceled only three times before since it began in 1891, all during the second World War.
