Dangerous Sex Offender May Be Released In Orange County
(Santa Ana, CA) — A dangerous sex offender who preys on young boys may soon be back on Orange County streets. Authorities say 59-year-old Cary Smith is coming back to the area after being let out of a mental hospital where he spent the last 20 years. County officials say Smith has testified under oath that he’s fantasized about raping and murdering boys, claiming to have molested hundreds. He’s also said that he likes to be called “Mr. RTK” which stands for “Rape, Torture and Kill.” On Tuesday O.C. officials urged Governor Gavin Newsom to have Smith at least re-register as a sex offender.
