(Los Angeles, CA) — A Ralphs employee is suspended after she allegedly pepper-sprayed a customer who refused to wear a mask. The incident happened at the Ralphs on La Brea in the Mid-Wilshire District on July 15th. Officials say the employee asked a shopper to put on a face covering or leave and the man rammed her with a shopping cart. The worker pepper-sprayed him and called police. Witnesses say the employee was defending herself. The company has suspended the employee for five days for not following de-escalation procedures.
