State Lawmakers Push For Higher Taxes On Wealthy Californians
(Sacramento, CA) — California lawmakers are hoping to offset the economic fallout from the coronavirus pandemic with a new bill that would raise income taxes on households with incomes above one-million-dollars per year. Assemblyman Rob Bonta says the need to address income inequality in the state is greater than ever. An estimate of the bill provided to lawmakers shows it would generate nearly six-point-five billion from roughly 70-thousand taxpayers in the state.
