(Lincoln Park, CA) — Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is authorizing the city to shut off utilities to any houses or businesses hosting large gatherings. Starting Friday, LAPD officers who verify repeated violations will notify and request the water and power department to stop services within two days. Garcetti said the enforcement targets people who are “determined to break the rules” and pose health dangers to the public amid the coronavirus pandemic. This comes after a shooting at a Beverly Crest mansion party left one person dead this week.
